The Plough And The Stars – May 1991

Gary Hynes’ memorable production of the best play ever written, Sean O’Casey’s The Plough And The Stars in MAY 1991.

I have seen many productions of this wonderful play and I have read it a million times, studied it, and obviously know what happens next, but that particular production had me on the edge of my seat, the sweat was rolling down my back and the hairs were rising on the back of my neck, mesmerising.

I have since watched another brilliant production, again at the Abbey in August 2010. It was a pleasure watching people I know and have worked with over the years, Joe Hanley, Gabrielle Reidy and Cathy Belton, absolutely brilliant.
Keep up the good work.
