I brought my partner to see a matinee of The Risen People early last December – it was our first Christmas together, therefore my first Christmas gift to him and I had kept it a surprise for him.  From the moment we stepped into the foyer where we had coffee, to walking up the stairs to the theatre, admiring and talking about the art work hung on the walls, to the production itself, I think I can safely say I will find it very difficult to find such a special gift again. The effect this production had on us was profound. It was a wonderfully moving, emotional, humorous in the hardest of times, informative recount of a time in our History. The effect the Abbey Theatre had on him was priceless! We love the Abbey.
